Welcome to my new blog, haip94! From retro tech to the newest tech of today. From software development to product design. From making art to making zines. From cross stitch to traveling. I want to share my passions and network with others who share those passions too.
Okay, so I've tried to have blogs in the past and mostly they've been Tumblr blogs. I mean, my teenhood Tumblr blog was 🔥 fire 🔥, but I mean a more "professional" blog.
Here's the deal: I want to get all jazzed about my passion projects, hobbies, interests, etc. But Twitter and Instagram aren't really great places to do that in depth. Think: My adventures with connecting my TRS-80 Model 100 to the internet via Wi-Fi and including pictures and links; writing about my Palm device collection and suppling downloads to the stuff I've got on my Palm T|X; telling the stories about writing my various zines. None of this stuff works well on Twitter or IG.
So I abandoned my Tumblr blog and tried Notion. I ❤️ Notion. But Notion as a blogging tool isn't accessible at all. I pulled up the Chrome inspector and looked at how a screen reader would parse the page and woah. It was... gnarly. WordPress is fine, but my freelance memories of that software have soured it for me (and I've decided I've had it with PHP coding tbh). When I found Ghost, it seemed like the perfect fit, so after fighting with my MySQL installation, here we are.
So what is the plan for this? Well, I have a handful of interests. From retro tech to the newest tech of today. From software development to product design (which is what I get paid to do). From making art to making zines. From cross stitch to cats. Oh! And traveling! I think you get the picture. All that I want to write about, supply links, downloads, resources, stories. All of it! I want to share my passions and network with others who share those passions too.
That all said: Welcome to my new blog, haip94! I'm so hyped to share my passions with you all. You can subscribe to this blog to get the latest to your inbox, too! (You should do that!)
Until next time, with love,
Hannah A. Patellis
I pronounce haip94 as "hype ninety-four", which my friends tell me is absolutely not the way to pronounce "haip" but they are my initials and it's my blog so... my rules.
